The power goes out and you're holding a flashlight that lights one corner of one room, or a phone you can't afford to drain. The Titan puts out 300 lumens for up to 100 hours on a charge, and recharges most phones 2 to 3 times. It runs on the sun, so there's no battery to find dead. Buy one, get a solar Lantern free, because one lantern only covers one room.

A flashlight points. It puts a circle on the wall, leaves the rest of the room dark, and somebody has to hold it the whole time. Fine for finding the breaker box. Not fine for four hours at the kitchen table with your kids.

The Titan is a lantern, not a beam. 300 lumens, hung off a cabinet handle, and the whole room comes back. It runs up to 100 hours on one charge. There's also a red light mode that's easy on the eyes for reading, or for crossing a dark room at 2am without waking anyone.

Every backup light in your house has the same problem: it needs something. Batteries you haven't checked since spring. A wall charger that's useless the second the power's out. That's why the flashlight in the junk drawer never works when you reach for it.

LuminAID's inflatable lantern tech was invented for disaster relief, where nobody gets to plug anything in. It charges in the sun. IP67 waterproof, so rain or a drop in the yard doesn't end it. Packs flat at 6 by 1 inches and 12.5 ounces, so it lives in a drawer or a glovebox. Twist to inflate and it's ready in seconds.

An outage turns your phone into the only thing connecting you to anyone, and the only thing you can't recharge. So you ration it. Screen dim, notifications off, watching the percentage drop.

4000mAh brings most phones back 2 to 3 times, or runs a tablet. Plug in over USB and your phone stays alive off the same sunlight lighting the room.

All five Sharks made an offer. Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta invented this in grad school and took the deal with Mark Cuban.

Since then, over 10,000 5-star reviews, most from households like yours: somewhere the power goes out more than it should.

You're not unprepared. There's a flashlight somewhere, a box of candles, maybe a power bank that was full in March. The gap is that every one of them needs something you won't have: batteries, a wall outlet, a charge you forgot to top off.

The Titan needs sun, and it gets that back for free. It holds a charge 2+ years in a drawer. And an outage doesn't stay in one room, which is why buy one get one free makes sense here. One by the front door, one in the car. Two Titans, $88 total.
